Comac Registry
System of record for AI provenance and lineage
The Comac Registry is an external, neutral, proof-only system of record for artificial intelligence systems. It records attestations of provenance and lineage. It does not store model weights, training data, or inference inputs or outputs.
Definition
The registry is external to AI operators and to any single vendor or deployment. It is neutral: it does not favour, endorse, or operate AI systems. It is proof-only: it holds attestations and references, not models or data. It functions as a system of record—a single, append-only reference for what exists, how it changed, and what can be independently verified.
Distinctions
The Comac Registry is not internal tooling, a compliance checklist, or a SaaS dashboard. It is not operated by or integrated into any one vendor's stack. It does not replace governance, risk, or audit processes; it holds a shared, inspectable record that those processes may use.
